Pont-à-Mousson. A contestant on the TV game show "Everyone Wants to Take His Place," he talks about what goes on behind the scenes of the show.

For those who missed it, the show is available for replay on France 2 until July 7. Others, loyal fans of the show Tout le monde veut prendre sa place , will have noticed this candidate from Pont-à-Mousson.
It was Saturday, June 7, even though the show had been recorded on April 22 in the Plaine Saint-Denis studios. His name is Umit Kalkandelen and he lives in the Mussipontain area with his wife and one-year-old daughter.
"I watch the show every lunchtime or on replay when I get home," explains the thirty-year-old, an engineer at ArcelorMittal in Luxembourg. It was his twin brother, who had also applied, who convinced him to try his luck.
Umit Kalkandelen applied online in November and was then contacted by the production team. "A member of the team asked me to introduce myself and share a few stories," he says. Feeling confident and confident, the thirty-year-old passed the selection process with flying colors.
He still has to answer a questionnaire and then take a general knowledge test. The answer, positive, comes in at the end of February. "I felt good about it because with my job, where I've been brought to work all over the world, I pass well," he says with a smile.
The production team then called him to suggest a recording date. April 22nd was convenient. He was emailed all the practical details about recording the show.
So Umit Kalkandelen went to Paris with his wife and their daughter. "I was summoned at 12:15 p.m.," he says. "You have to know that they record eight shows in a day."
The candidate had brought two rather sober outfits. He was led to the dressing rooms on the first floor of the building. "We get dressed. We move on to makeup and hair," he continues. Then it was time to discover the set. "It was great. It's big and bright, like you see on TV."
Next, the champion, in this case Joël, chats with the six candidates. Host Cyril Féraud does too. "Cyril is super nice. He puts people at ease," shares Umit Kalkandelen. Then it's time to enter the set. The Mussipontain candidate will tell an anecdote about his little girl, whose diapers he loves changing. He will answer a first question about a children's game but will fall on a question about cinema. Too bad, he won't move on to the second round.
He then watched the rest of the recording from the audience. "It was a magical moment. The whole team is great. You have to be yourself," he sums up, encouraging everyone watching the show to come and participate. "I've had nothing but positive feedback," the young man assures.
The father, who was participating in a TV game show for the first time, clearly took a liking to it. He applied for the competing TF1 show, Les douze coups de midi !
